Start Your Pre-Ski Trip Prep At This Weekend’s National Snow Show

Are you excited yet?

Ready to bounce back on the white stuff?

Like many UK ski enthusiasts, the chances are you haven’t felt the snow under your skis since Covid hit back in 2020 and ski resorts were shut down. So if you’re eagerly awaiting the next ski season, this weekend’s National Snow Show is the perfect opportunity to get back with your people – fellow mountain lovers!

What’s the snow show about?

If you’ve never been before to a ski show before, this buzzing community of snow seekers and industry pioneers will welcome you in with the same sense of togetherness you find in an apres ski bar.

It’s the perfect day out for snow sport enthusiasts, with a vibrant and interactive feel for those who already have a passion for skiing or snowboarding and those lucky newcomers who are about to discover it! Check out the latest kit and equipment and listen to industry experts and celebrities over two days of snow sport heaven.

The insider view from Perfect Turns Co-Founder and 5 x Olympian Graham Bell

As exhibitors this year, Perfect Turns are busy preparing to spend the weekend chatting to all kinds of skiers preparing to return to the slopes next season.

So what does Graham most enjoy about ski shows?

“I enjoy the social side of the ski show, meeting up with people from the industry and talking to skier's about their plans for the coming season.  Because I have skied in so many resorts across the world I'm most commonly asked about where to go, but I'm trying to change that into what to do before you go, how to make the most of your holiday and stay injury free.”

“If it’s your first time at a ski show it can feel overwhelming as there’s so much to take in. But it’s a chance to absorb the enthusiasm and get expert advice on kit and equipment or how to feel confident if it’s your first time on skis.”

Making the most of your next ski trip before you go.

Graham is a huge advocates of pre-ski prep. Because if you’ve waited for months, even years, to get back on the slopes you want to make sure you get the most out of every second.

“The Ski Show always has a feeling of impatient excitement,” said Graham, “Some people are literally counting the days before they go away.  That's when I’ll point out to them that there's a lot you can do to improve your ski fitness in just six weeks.”

“Far too often we hear about people having to cut down on or stop skiing altogether because of injury, age or lifestyle demands which takes them away from their happy place. We want to put an end to that and support people regardless of their age or stage.”

And the prep starts now, so the snow show is the perfect place to plan how you’ll get the most from the mountains. Not just with your gear, but how you’ll get ready mentally and physically to maximise every moment.

Other than Perfect Turns of course, what else must you see if you’re going to the snow show?

“The range of Olympic athletes is impressive,” said Graham, “from the medal winning snowboarders Jenny Jones and Billy Morgan, to a less successful ski jumper Eddie Edwards.  The great thing about skiing and snowboarding is that everyone has a story to tell.”

The National Snow Show is on at NEC Birmingham 15/16th October and you can find Graham and Sam on the Ski Exchange stand (E10). They’ll be running demos of their virtual ski coach and PT app, and visitors to the stand will be able to pick up a limited time offer on all packages.
